Intero Pilates is the New York City host training studio for the Somaphyx™ Pilates curriculum, which empowers Pilates professionals with high quality education rooted in the methodology of traditional Pilates through the lens of contemporary movement science.

  • Learn to teach safe, effective & thorough individual and group classes Pilates Mat and Pilates Reformer classes. Gain exceptional understanding of the original methodology alongside solid biomechanics, anatomy and kinesiology. With a blend of online self-study, in studio seminars and guidance, and practical & observations hours, this approachable certification is perfect for busy, working candidates or those looking to uplevel their career and personal movement practice.

    New cohorts begin each September and March. Program Details:

    Somaphyx™ Mat & Reformer teacher training: $5075*

    • 120 day program + access to repertoire & seminar replays for another 120 days

    • anatomy & kinesiology online course (must be completed prior to first seminar or within 30 days of enrollment. access for 120 days after course)

    • supporting resources including "Total Matness" mat classes, "Fbomb Friday" reformer workouts, and Interosomatic ELEMENTS Pilates™ on demand workout library

    • 24 hours of seminar - 3 weekends at 4 hours each (sat/sun) 

    subtotal: $2525

    200 practical hours: 

    • in-studio personal/solo practice hours - 50 (20 mat / 30 reformer)

    • observation hours - 50 (20 mat / 30 reformer)

    • practice teaching hours - 100 (30 mat / 70 reformer)

    • these hours don't all need to be done at the studio, but you must keep track of them and submit written proof

    • $10/hour of studio use

  • The Somaphyx™ Practitioner’s Apprenticeship is a comprehensive, 12-month training program combining classical principles with modern movement science. Through live, in-studio practice and observation as well as internet-based self study courses, this program builds deep, thorough technical knowledge, teaching skills and practical experience in a small, mentorship-driven cohort.

    Graduates become comprehensively certified Pilates practitioners fully prepared to confidently teach private clients, group classes and specialized populations like pre/postnatal or post-rehab clients.

    New cohorts begin each August. 600+ hours including on demand repertoire, in-depth seminars, hands on studio training, observation, private sessions and advisory hours, plus benchmark evaluations and NCPT exam eligibility.

  • Bridge your current training and up-level your teaching skills. The Pro-Mentorship is about understanding Pilates as an interconnected system that reshapes the way you move, teach, and connect with the work.

    Through 6 Movement Modules, you’ll experience the entire Somaphyx™ Pilates Method across the Reformer, Mat, Chairs, Barrels, Tower and Cadillac.

    This mentorship is for teachers ready to refine, deepen, and elevate their understanding of Pilates as a comprehensive system, while staying true to their unique teaching style. By training Pilates as a whole, you’ll refine your ability to see patterns, make informed choices, and guide clients with greater clarity and confidence.
